Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili announced that Georgia is preparing a major issuance of Finance Ministry Treasury Bonds, specifically inviting international investment firms to participate. The statement followed the successful refinancing of the government’s USD 500 million Eurobond last month.

According to the minister, many global companies have already expressed interest in lari-denominated securities, encouraging the government to organize a larger-scale auction in addition to the weekly issuance of Treasury Bonds. Khutsishvili noted that foreign investors’ activity in Georgian securities has noticeably increased, with over 100 international firms showing interest.

The Finance Ministry is also exploring opportunities in Asian financial markets, which Khutsishvili described as attractive due to lower currency volatility. He said Georgia plans to conduct international issuances targeting this region as part of its broader debt management strategy.

Georgia recently issued USD 500 million in Eurobonds on the London Stock Exchange with a 5.125% coupon rate, the lowest for sovereign issuers with ratings similar to or slightly above Georgia in the past four years, according to the ministry.
