Georgia’s National Food Agency has suspended operations at prepared meals producer Knatuna in Tbilisi and Gheleghurdani restaurant in Batumi, fining both over critical food safety violations.
Inspectors found repeated failures to properly clean equipment and surfaces at Knatuna, as well as meat stored without veterinary supervision. Gheleghurdani was cited for inadequate infrastructure, improper equipment cleaning and disinfection, and hygiene violations.
The agency also fined and suspended two illegal poultry slaughter operations in Gori and Kaspi municipalities for operating without registration or official authorization.
