Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze congratulated Ukraine and the Ukrainian people on Independence Day in a video address.
“Happy Independence Day, Ukraine! The strong ties between our countries and peoples are rooted in historical friendship and shared values. I wish you peace, strength and prosperity. Long live Ukraine!” Kobakhidze said.
On August 24, 1991, the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR adopted the Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine.
