GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized that both the government and the people of Georgia remain strongly pro-Western. He made the remarks in an interview with TRT World, highlighting the country’s commitment to European integration.
Kobakhidze acknowledged that recent actions by the European bureaucracy have somewhat shaken public trust in the EU. Despite this, he stressed that the government is actively working to maintain a positive attitude toward the European Union within Georgian society.
He stated, “Support for the EU is still very high, and we are doing everything to maintain this mood in society, despite all unfair actions by the European bureaucracy.” Kobakhidze underscored that Georgia identifies as part of Western and European culture.
Looking ahead, GD Prime Minister expressed optimism about Georgia’s EU prospects, noting that if the EU bureaucracy adjusts its approach toward the country, Georgia could realistically achieve full EU membership by 2030.
