Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said the World Bank has raised its economic growth forecast for Georgia to 7%, describing the revision as evidence of positive economic trends in the country.

“The previous forecast, published in June, was 5%, and it has now been increased by 2 percentage points, from 5% to 7%. This reflects the positive trends in Georgia’s economy during the current year,” Kobakhidze said.

According to the prime minister, the updated forecast is 2.6 times higher than the average forecast for other EU candidate countries. He also noted that the World Bank expects Georgia to have the highest economic growth among European countries over 2026–2028.

“One of our main priorities is to maintain this trend,” Kobakhidze said, referring to the growth outlook.
