The chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Irakli Kobakhidze, is expected to be nominated for the position of the head of the government, while the current PM, Irakli Garibashvili, will assume the role of chair of the party, the Imedi TV channel reported.
According to the TV Company, the Political Council of the ruling GD party decided on January 24 to schedule a party congress for February 1, where these nominations are anticipated to be officially confirmed.
Moreover, Irakli Kobakhidze will also hold the post of political secretary of the GD party.
