Georgia has reduced annual spending by GEL 60 million through a large-scale restructuring of state-owned enterprises, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.
According to the Prime Minister, the government replaced the executive leadership of all state-owned enterprises, after which the new management carried out structural optimization aimed at eliminating redundant costs. He said the process primarily affected enterprises in the railway, energy, and other state sectors.
Kobakhidze stated that there had been significant room for streamlining and described the previous management approach as ineffective. He said the reforms established a more efficient model of governance while generating substantial savings for the state budget.
The Prime Minister thanked the new management teams for implementing the reforms, reiterating that the restructuring across state-owned enterprises now saves the country approximately GEL 60 million each year.
