The poultry company Kumisi increased egg production by 12% in 2025 and plans to expand output by another 15% in 2026. Speaking on BMGTV’s Business Morning, company director Gogita Maisuradze said demand for eggs in Georgia continues to grow, and the company has expanded automation and staffing to meet rising consumption.

Maisuradze noted that production costs increased significantly in 2025, mainly due to higher prices of feed components such as corn and wheat - up by 25–30% compared to 2024. He emphasized that feed accounts for 70–75% of production cost, while Georgia produces only a portion of needed grains and remains dependent on imports. Despite last year’s cost pressures, Kumisi does not expect further price increases in the coming months.

The director also said that the company will wait until the next harvest period, July to October, before forecasting 2026 pricing, as feed prices during that season determine final costs. He added that Kumisi avoids making price adjustments in December and typically implements any necessary changes beginning in January or February. For now, no price corrections are planned for 2026.

Looking ahead, the company is exploring the possibility of diversifying its product range. Although the market is already saturated, Kumisi is considering options such as free-range eggs if sufficient demand can be identified. The Kumisi egg production facility is located in the village of Kumisi, Gardabani district.
