Georgia aims to become a regional center for economic and financial connectivity, rather than just a transit country, Economy Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said at the Tbilisi Financial Summit.
She said the government’s priorities include strengthening the Middle Corridor, developing transport, logistics and energy infrastructure, and improving conditions for international trade and investment.
Kvrivishvili highlighted the planned Anaklia deep-sea port and the new Vaziani international airport as strategic infrastructure projects, stressing that competitiveness depends not only on cargo movement but also on secure payments and cross-border capital flows.
She also pointed to reforms in investment funds, securities and other financial instruments, saying they are helping expand corporate bond markets and diversify financing options for businesses. Developing financial technology and supporting innovation remain key priorities, she added.
