In the first 11 months of the previous year, the country imported 1.5 million USD worth of pineapples totaling 1,410 tons. This represents a 13.5% increase in value compared to the same period of the previous year, while the imported volume was 1.2% lower.

The data shows that although Georgia bought slightly fewer pineapples in terms of volume, the total cost increased, indicating higher prices or changes in supply conditions. Pineapples continue to be a popular imported fruit, and the country remains dependent on several key suppliers.

As for the importing countries, Turkey holds a dominant position. Georgia imported 1,244 tons of pineapples from Turkey, worth 1.2 million USD. This makes Turkey by far the largest source of pineapple imports for Georgia.

Other contributors include the Netherlands with 154.4 tons worth 264,400 USD, Armenia with 11.4 tons worth 11,900 USD, and Germany, from which Georgia purchased 300 kilograms worth 3,500 USD. Although these amounts are far smaller than Turkey’s share, they reflect the diversity of Georgia’s import sources.
