Construction is underway on Le Méridien Sioni Lake Resort & Spa, a hotel and wellness complex near the Sioni Reservoir, developed by Archi in partnership with TBC Bank. Archi Group co-founder and Supervisory Board Chairman Ilia Tsulaia said the idea originated from plans to create a recreational and sports destination near Tbilisi, together with his business partner, former basketball player Zaza Pachulia.
The project will feature a five-star luxury hotel operated under the international Marriott brand, following a signed agreement with Le Méridien. Located 1,100 meters above sea level, the resort is designed to attract visitors throughout the year, with its natural scenery and wellness facilities serving as key attractions.
A central feature will be a 3,000-square-meter spa offering a wide range of treatments, including an outdoor heated pool overlooking the lake and surrounding mountains. Plans also include a five-kilometer lakeside boulevard for walking and cycling, as well as water sports and boat trips, positioning the complex as a distinctive mountain and leisure destination in the region.
TBC Bank is providing financial support for the project. Natia Sonishvili, the bank’s Director of Strategic Corporate Client Services, said TBC prioritizes investments that create new tourism destinations and attract more visitors to Georgia. The partners expect the resort to become a significant addition to the country’s tourism infrastructure.
