Income earned by almond farmers increased by around 10–15% this year compared with 2025, according to Levan Kvariani, chairman of the Almond and Walnut Producers Association.

Kvariani said that while no major changes are expected in almond and walnut prices on international or domestic markets, prices received by farmers locally have increased, particularly for almonds, due to growing competition among processors and buyers.

“Farmers received around 10–15% more income this year than last year. There is healthy competition in the market, including among processors, which has contributed to higher prices for farmers,” Kvariani said on Business Morning.

He expects international price trends to depend largely on final harvest volumes, with California’s crop being particularly important. Kvariani said a decline in local prices is unlikely, although he does not expect a sharp increase in either almond or walnut prices.
