Shipping costs have increased by 60% for the farmers due to rising fuel prices. Beka Gonashvili, - the founder of "Agrokiziki" made this statement to BM.GE. According to Gonashvili, the increased cost hinders the export of live goods.
The founder of "Agrokiziki" says that farmers will probably have to switch to land transportation. Beka Gonashvili also speaks about the need for the state to take concrete steps in this direction.
"We will have to adjust to another reality, it may be delivery by land. There is a lot of work to be done here, the government should also work with Turkey in order to grant the transit right, there is a lot of work in this direction with other countries as well. In such a case, the export of livestock cattle, including meat, can be arranged. Otherwise, I do not think these problems will end soon, because the cost of everything has increased too much due to fuel.
Shipping costs are up by about 50-60%. This hinders exports, comparing the current situation with last year, there are already differences in the export of live goods. Last year the demand and preparation were active, but this year everyone is waiting for something," said Beka Gonashvili, a farmer and the founder of Agrokiziki.
