The government has transferred non-agricultural land in Ambrolauri municipality to LLC “Sakartvelos Energo Corporation” for a symbolic price of GEL 1, conditional on the construction of the “Lukhuni 2” hydropower plant.
Under the government decree, the company must pay the symbolic price within one month and complete construction and commissioning of the 17 MW HPP in line with previous agreements. The project is expected to be operational by May 2027.
In addition, the company has been exempted from penalties related to non-fulfillment of obligations under a 2020 purchase agreement.
According to director Davit Mindeli, the total investment in the project is about GEL 32 million, while the land transferred covers more than 31,000 sq. m across several plots in the village of Uravi.
