Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with Azerbaijan Railways Head Rovshan Rustamov during his current visit to Georgia.
According to the Ministry, Mariam Kvrivishvili recently travelled to Azerbaijan, where she engaged in discussions on restoring passenger railway services between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Rovshan Rustamov’s visit aimed to address technical aspects of the initiative.
Both sides emphasised that this project would provide a significant boost to Georgia-Azerbaijan economic relations, particularly in the tourism sector.
Mariam Kvrivishvili expressed optimism that negotiations over the restoration of railway traffic would soon conclude with tangible results.
Deputy Economy Minister Guram Guramishvili, Georgian Railway Director Lasha Abashidze, and Levan Kankava, Head of Marabda-Kartsakhi LTD attended the meeting.
