“Masho’s Marani,” a bio-winery based in Shindisi village, Gori Municipality, is sending its first export batch to France. Founder Davit Mechiauri said the wine will leave Georgia within two weeks and will be sold through premium restaurants and wine boutiques rather than mass retail chains.
The winery produces wine from two indigenous Kartli grape varieties — Goruli Mtsvane and Shavkapito — and its vineyard is currently undergoing organic certification. The company expects to receive full organic certification next year.
The first export price is set at €12 per bottle. After obtaining organic certification, the winery expects prices to increase by around 20-30%.
Besides France, “Masho’s Marani” has presented its wines in China, where it has already attracted interest from potential partners. The French partnership may also open access to markets in Italy, Spain, and Germany. The company has also received interest from Russia but decided not to enter the market due to unfavorable payment terms.
