In Armenia, a meeting took place between representatives of the blogging community, the leadership of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), and a group of National Assembly deputies. The main topic of discussion was the tax system for income derived from advertising services on social media.
SRC Chairman Rustam Badasyan emphasized the importance of involving influencers in fostering voluntary tax compliance. According to him, voluntary adherence to tax laws is the only viable path forward, and equal conditions will be maintained for all players in the sector.
From June to September 2024, the SRC sent 57 electronic notices to 44 influencers, alerting them to potential risks of underreporting their revenue, with each undocumented transaction specified.
According to SRC analysis, the revenue of these taxpayers saw substantial growth following June 2024: it rose by 119% in July, 41% in August, and 101% in September.
Moreover, for the period from January to September 2024, total revenue increased by 28% compared to the same period in 2023, amounting to approximately $396,000.
