MFOs Received Profit Of GEL 29 MLN In 1Q25

In 1Q2025, microfinance organizations operating in Georgia earned a net profit of 29 million GEL, according to the consolidated financial report of microfinance organizations. Compared to the same period in 2024, the net profit of microfinance organizations increased by 0.3 million GEL.

As of the financial report, microfinance organizations earned 94 million GEL in interest income in the first quarter, of which 58 million GEL was income from pawnshop loans.

In addition, microfinance organizations had 22 million GEL in commission and other income.

As for expenses, 29 million GEL were salary expenses of personnel employed in microfinance organizations, and total non-interest and administrative expenses amounted to 45 million GEL. Credit losses and write-offs were 7.7 million GEL, and 15 million GEL was spent on servicing loans taken by the microfinance organizations themselves. As a result, the profit of the company amounts to 29 million GEL.
