"The police acted in full compliance with the laws of our country, legislation, international standards, and conventions, including the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Intoxication, tearing, and other symptoms are natural accompanying processes," said the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health, and Social Protection, Mikheil Sarjveladze, in response to a question about the use of tear gas canisters and pepper spray by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to disperse protesters during ongoing demonstrations.

According to him, no one has provided any evidence proving that representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs used prohibited substances against demonstrators.

"No one has any evidence suggesting that representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs used any non-standard means or anything not permitted, allowed, or justified by conventions and the legislation of our country during the ongoing protests. Therefore, discussing this topic more seriously is unnecessary, as it has not gone beyond mere speculation.

The police acted in full compliance with the laws of our country, legislation, international standards, and conventions, including the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Of course, tear gas canisters or pepper spray are permitted means for dispersing unlawful protests. Intoxication, tearing, and other symptoms are natural accompanying processes," Mikheil Sarjveladze stated.
