GD President Mikheil Kavelashvili met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, where the sides discussed global challenges and the importance of peace and sustainable development.
According to Kavelashvili’s press service, the meeting emphasized Georgia’s role in ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
“The vector of peace, stability and economic prosperity chosen by the Georgian government is unshakable, for which the UN Secretary-General thanked the President of Georgia. At the meeting, Secretary-General Guterres noted that we have withstood great pressure. He thanked us for choosing such a correct path of peace, stability and development. Everyone sees this, notes it, and such assessments are very pleasant,” Kavelashvili said.
Following the meeting, Kavelashvili also made an entry in the UN Book of Honorary Guests.
