Minister of Infrastructure has the 5th Deputy

In the “Dream” government, Batu Gurjidze has been appointed as the fifth deputy to Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze.

The corresponding order is dated August 4 and signed by Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to information posted on the ministry’s website, since 2025 Batu Gurjidze had been serving as head of the Economic Department at Georgia’s Ministry of Infrastructure. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2025, he held the same position at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure.

He began his public sector career in 2009 and has over 16 years of professional experience in public financial management, budget planning, and economic analysis. At various times, he headed departments of financial policy, finance and budget, and economic analysis, including within the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs. He also has experience working in the private sector.

Batu Gurjidze is an economist by profession. He graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, where he studied in the faculties of Economics and of Commerce and Marketing.

Following the split of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Regional Development, Ilia Begiashvili and Mzia Giorgobiani continued serving as deputies to Revaz Sokhadze, who also appointed Giorgi Koberidze, Vakhtang Bagrationi, and Batu Gurjidze as his deputies.
