Minister of Justice Reveals High Income and Luxury Assets

Justice Minister Paata Salia, appointed to the post in April 2025 by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, has officially filed his asset declaration, revealing significant income and a range of high-value assets accumulated over the past year.

Salia, who previously served as a partner in a law firm and director of Rustavi 2 TV, entered Parliament as a Georgian Dream member following the 2024 elections. His declaration outlines both personal and family wealth, including luxury vehicles, substantial income from legal work, and multiple real estate holdings.

According to the asset declaration:

  • In 2024, Salia purchased a Porsche Cayenne valued at €123,000.
  • In January 2025, his wife, Ketevan Jeladze, bought a Land Rover Defender for $66,000.

Combined Household Income: Over 780,000 GEL

Salia and Jeladze reported a combined income of 783,000 GEL in 2024:

Paata Salia: 384,000 GEL, primarily from legal work for Smart Capital Group, owned by businessman Ivane Chkhartishvili:

  • Smart Capital Consultants LLC – 246,122 GEL (lawyer)
  • Smart Capital Production LLC – 59,948 GEL (Head of Legal)
  • Basel LLC – 75,077 GEL (lawyer)
  • Ketevan Jeladze: 400,000 GEL, mostly from dividends:
  • Educational Management Park LLC – 344,600 GEL (40% shareholder); salary – 9,475 GEL
  • Sal Turkey LLC – 55,503 GEL (30.8% shareholder)

The couple also holds significant cash reserves:

  • Paata Salia: $50,000
  • Ketevan Jeladze: $45,000

All major real estate assets are registered under Ketevan Jeladze’s name, including:

Residential house in Akhalsopeli (Mtskheta municipality):

  • 275.8 sq m house + 424 sq m land – purchased for $119,000

Apartment in Tbilisi (Lisi Yasamnebi Street):

  • 180.2 sq m – purchased for $203,130

Two land plots in Akhalsopeli:

  • 722 sq m and 525 sq m – total price around $37,000

Basement in Tbilisi:

  • Purchased for $3,350
  • Apartment in Batumi (45 sq m):

Registered in the name of their daughter, Nino Salia

This asset declaration provides a clear picture of the Justice Minister’s substantial personal and family wealth, accumulated through legal work and business dividends in recent years.
