Georgian Health Ministry on Thursday reported “unscrupulous actions” from some pharmaceutical companies after the reference price system for medicines was introduced.
Deeming it unacceptable, the MOH said some companies artificially increased the oncological drug prices.
“According to preliminary findings, there may be an unscrupulous deal between pharmaceutical companies that significantly harms citizens and the state, which covers oncology patient treatment,” the Ministry states.
The National Competition Agency is about to probe into the case, the Ministry said, adding it would take strict action against any violations.
