The Committee discussed the Draft Monetary-Credit and Currency Policy Directions for 2022-2024 introduced by the President of the National Bank, Koba Gvenetadze.
"The major part of the budget deficit for 2020-2021 is financed by additional financial resources mobilized from international donor organizations, which also means an increase in international reserves. In addition, we should mention the National Bank's efforts towards the accumulating reserves in recent years.
All these allow the National Bank to partially alleviate the potential pressure from the high budget deficit. Since the beginning of 2020, the National Bank has provided USD 1 billion 207 million to the market (including 916 million in 2020 and 352 in January-November 2021)," Koba Gvenetadze said.
