A new dairy brand, Namieri, has entered the Georgian market with a focus on producing Greek-style yogurt as demand for healthier food options continues to grow. Founder Natalia Jariashvili said the idea was inspired by personal experience and the lack of locally available high-protein, natural products.

According to Jariashvili, consumers are increasingly paying attention to product ingredients, protein content, and quality. She said many imported products contain additives and preservatives, which encouraged the company to create a cleaner alternative made without artificial ingredients.

Namieri uses locally sourced milk from partner farmers, with each batch undergoing quality checks for purity, fat content, and microbiological standards before production. The company was launched through the founders’ personal investment, while future expansion may involve grant programs and state support initiatives.

Currently, Namieri yogurt is available in several neighborhood stores in Tbilisi, while negotiations are underway with larger retail chains. The company also plans to expand its product range, including the introduction of lactose-free yogurt, and is considering developing its own farm in the long term.
