Infrastructure Minister Revaz Sokhadze announced that a new phase of construction projects in Kutaisi will start in the second half of the year. He visited ongoing works near the Student-Youth Park and the former Parliament building, noting that projects are proceeding according to plan and larger initiatives for the city are in preparation.
The Student-Youth Park rehabilitation project includes pedestrian and cycling paths, new green areas, landscaping, small architectural structures, and upgraded lighting systems.
The park will also feature children’s and sports zones, picnic areas, an amphitheater, and water mirrors. All infrastructure will be fully accessible for parents with strollers and people with special needs.
The Municipal Development Fund under the Ministry of Infrastructure is implementing the project. Since its founding in 1957, the park has only received pedestrian path renovations during the Soviet era.
