Night skiing in Gudauri will offer visitors an additional leisure activity, but it is unlikely to encourage tourists to extend their stays, says Miranda Esakia, co-founder of the Mountain Resorts Business Association.
Speaking on BMGTV’s Women’s Narrative, Esakia described night skiing as an added attraction for tourists who have already planned their holidays in Gudauri, rather than a factor that would make them stay longer.
The new night-skiing facility is being developed in New Gudauri, currently one of the resort’s most popular areas. Esakia welcomed the initiative, calling it an additional recreational option for visitors.
The official opening of Georgia’s mountain resort winter season is scheduled for December 20.
