No Budget Revision Despite Higher Economic Growth - Kakauridze

კაკაურიძე

Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze said that despite faster-than-expected economic growth in 2025, the government does not plan to revise the state budget at this stage. The budget for this year was drafted with a growth forecast of 6%, though actual figures have exceeded that.

Speaking at the Parliament’s Health and Social Issues Committee, Kakauridze noted that economic growth reached 8.3% in the first half of the year and averaged 8% in the first seven months. “We think the high pace will be maintained until the end of the year and we will achieve growth above 6%. However, we are not trying to revise the budget now and will update forecasts along with the next budget,” he explained.

According to Geostat’s preliminary estimate, Georgia’s real GDP grew 6.5% in July 2025 compared to the same month last year. The average growth rate for the first seven months stood at 8%.

The key sectors driving this growth include transport and storage, information and communication, arts, entertainment and recreation, and trade. Officials expect these industries to remain central to the country’s strong performance through the end of the year.
