Non-Residents Lead Hotel Spending in December 2025

In December 2025, non-residents dominated cashless hotel spending in Georgia, according to a report by TBC Capital. Non-residents accounted for 86% of total cashless hotel expenditures, with an average transaction value of GEL 724, while residents accounted for 14%, spending an average of GEL 201 per transaction.

Overall, cashless hotel spending rose by 40% year-on-year, reaching an average of GEL 536 per transaction. The increase reflects strong demand from both international and domestic visitors.

Breaking down the figures, residents’ spending grew by 14% compared to December 2024, while non-residents saw a 46% increase, highlighting the significant contribution of foreign tourists to the hospitality sector.

TBC Capital emphasized that these trends underscore the importance of non-resident spending for Georgia’s hotel industry, which continues to benefit from rising international tourism and cashless payment adoption.
