The number of officially registered jobs in Armenia hit a new record in September 2022 growing by 10,000 from June 2022 to 691,087, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at a government session.

He said compared to September 2021, the number increased by 39,946, or 6.1%, and compared to 2018 by 108,312 or 18.6%.

'Consequently, 108,000 jobs have been taken out of the shadow since 2018," he said.

The prime minister added that the payroll in September 2022 compared to September last year increased by 33.43 billion drams ($83.5 mln), or 23.5%.

"The increase compared to September 2018 exceeded 74.16 billion drams ($185 mln), or 73.2%," he noted.

Pashinyan also said: "In September 2022 compared to September 2021, income tax revenues increased by 5.35 billion drams ($13 mln), or 17.6%, and by more than 10.55 billion drams ($26 mln), or 41.8%, compared to September 2018, when the transition to a flat income tax scale was made.'

"It's a very interesting phenomenon because with the cut in the income tax rate, we actually collected 100 billion drams more in 2021. And this year, as you can see, the income tax collection rate will be even higher," Pashinyan said.

According to Pashinyan, the average wage in September of this year increased by 35,769 drams ($90) or 16.4%, compared to 2021 September and by 80,077 drams ($200) or 46.1% compared to 2018 September.

"Of course, these figures are very important and very impressive, and I hope that we will continue at the same pace," Pashinyan summarized.

The income tax rate in 2022 was 22%, this year - 21%, and in January 1, 2023 it will be reduced to 20%, ARKA reports.
