According to Shalva Alaverdashvili, president of the Federation of Hotels and Restaurants, the dynamics of hotel recovery have a positive trend. According to him, in July of this year, the average occupancy of hotels in Tbilisi is up to 70%, while in Batumi - up to 80%.
"The load rate is good and almost returned to the post-pandemic period. As for the prices, they are still low and hopefully they will return to the post-pandemic period," says Alaverdashvili.
Regarding the percentage of hotel occupancy by Russian tourists in Tbilisi and Batumi, he notes, that there is a big percentage difference between Tbilisi and Batumi: "their number does not even reach 7% in Tbilisi hotels, while in Batumi - the rate stands at 35%".
