As of January 1, 2023, the population of Georgia equals 3, 736,400 persons, registering a 1.3% increase from the previous year, - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia(Geostat).
According to the statistics, the only reason for population growth in Georgia was unprecedented scale migration, 180 thousand immigrants entered the country.
As of January 1, 2023, 60.4% of the population lives in urban settlements. At the same time, almost one third of total population lives in Tbilisi. The number of Tbilisi population increased by 40 thousand. According to Geostat, Imereti ranks the second by the population increase, followed by Kvemo Kartli.

● Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 93,300 people, an increase of 900 y-o-y
