Armenia is set to become a major player in artificial intelligence infrastructure with the announcement of a USD 500 million AI factory, in partnership with NVIDIA, the world’s largest AI company. The project, one of the most ambitious technological initiatives in Armenia’s history, is being developed in collaboration with the Armenian government, investment holding Firebird, and tech infrastructure provider Team Group.
At the heart of the initiative is the creation of a next-generation AI factory powered by thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, establishing Armenia’s first high-capacity data center with over 100 megawatts of electrical capacity.
This facility will be the largest AI hub in the Caucasus region, backed by a global technology leader. The project's scale and international credibility are expected to send a strong positive signal to global investors, positioning Armenia as a rising tech destination.
Beyond infrastructure, the AI factory is envisioned as a center for science, education, and innovation. Plans include the establishment of advanced research programs, training centers, and technology incubators to foster local talent and support scientific development.
NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang, who is personally engaged in the project, emphasized its strategic importance:
“AI factories are the future of critical infrastructure in the 21st century. We are proud to cooperate with Armenia on this very important path and are confident that we are creating a strong foundation for the development of AI and attracting investments in the region.”
Huang, whose net worth is estimated at USD 125 billion, has championed AI development worldwide and sees Armenia as a key regional partner.
The AI factory is scheduled for completion in 2026. The primary financial contributors will be Firebird and Team Group, while NVIDIA will serve as the technology partner, supplying essential hardware and software for the facility.
Though specific terms are yet to be finalized, it is expected that the Armenian government will contribute through land allocation, tax incentives, subsidies, and streamlined regulatory procedures to facilitate the investment.
NVIDIA’s interest in Armenia may also be driven by a personal connection: Rev Lebaredian, NVIDIA’s Vice President and one of its major shareholders, is of Armenian descent and is playing a leading role in the project.
NVIDIA, with a market capitalization of USD 3.5 trillion, is currently the second-largest company in the world, making its partnership with Armenia a landmark development in the nation’s tech evolution.
