Whatever tactics we use, it is new for them. They are used to chasing people around the parliament alone - they thought that someone would engage in a physical confrontation with them. We went through this protest peacefully, - Giorgi Vashadze, one of the leaders of the "Unity-National Movement", said.
According to him, the goal has been fulfilled even now, one of the central streets of the city is paralyzed.
"The police used absolutely disproportionate and illegal force, we announced in advance what we were doing, what type of protest it was. Their goal was to punish us, but they could not destroy us. You see we are here. Now Melikishvili is closed and we have switched to a new tactic - this is a mobile protest. What does mobile protest mean? They will do it, we will do it too, we will keep our distance from the police. They want to detain us, they tried to detain me personally, we don't give them the opportunity to detain us, we move, they stop! ? They can't wait for us for long, we are stopping too! This is our mobile protest, thus continuing this continuous protest. People are joining us and we will definitely win! We have seen their full resource today. 100% was mobilized today, which we saw is actually nothing, because this whole regime stands on that, which was mobilized that day. I call on the public, we can do the same type of protest in other cities and believe me, they won't do anything. We don't hold back, we don't come into contact with the police. If they come, we will move and keep our distance!
They tried to arrest me, they tried to arrest Nika, they want to neutralize this protest by arresting the leaders, but this protest will not stop! Now whatever tactics we operate, it is new for them. They are used to raiding people only around the parliament. It was not by chance that we chose this place near the university. We had the opportunity to continue the protest in all directions. For some reason, they thought that someone would enter into a physical confrontation with them. We passed this protest peacefully. Melikishvili is closed. Our goal, which we have, has been fulfilled even at this moment - one of the city's central streets is paralyzed", said Giorgi Vashadze.
He called on the participants of the rally to keep a distance from the law enforcement officers and to walk in groups to prevent arrest.
