In the six months of 2023, the generation of Enguri dam decreased by 12%. In total, during the reporting period, the HPP generated 1.4 billion kWh of electricity.
In the first half of 2023, 70% of total demand was met by hydropower, despite a 3.6% decline in total production.
The decline in hydropower generation was primarily due to a 14 percent annual decline in generation from the Enguri and Vardnili Hydro Power Plant cascade. Wind energy production accounted for only 0.6% of the total supply. In January-June, the output of the Kartli wind plant amounted to about 43 million kWh.
In total, the generation of generating capacities for the six months of 2023 was distributed as follows: 70% hydro generation; 22% heat production and 8% imports. The share of the wind plant in the total production is less than one percent. Compared to the corresponding period last year, the share of hydro generation increased by 3%, heat generation - by 2%.
