On 13 December 2018, the Parliament of Georgia elected Papuna Lezhava as a member of the Board of the National Bank for 7 years. His term of office was due to expire in December 2025, but Papuna Lezhava left the post early.
From 2015, Papuna worked at Finance Corporation in Washington DC; In the years of 2013-2015 he was the adviser of the executive director of the World Bank.
