The newly drafted de-oligarchization action plan, which will be finalized after additional consultation with the European Commission (EC), will be sent to the Venice Commission by the end of this week, said Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of the Georgian Dream party on Monday.
According to Kobakhidze, the legislation on de-oligarchization enacted by the Parliament in two readings has lost its practical significance, and the Parliament will examine the third reading tomorrow but will not pass it, in accordance with the EC advice.
The bill, according to the GD Chair, was based on a personalized approach and was actively used for speculation.
“We call on the European Commission to abandon the personalized approach that is reflected in the 12 priorities,” he added.
Kobakhidze pledged the government would address all four issues identified during meetings with representatives of the European Commission.
