The chairman of the Restaurant Association, Shota Burjanadze, says property tax write-off for tourism facilities is an important decision. According to him, holders of the restaurants will make reinvestment with the saved money.

According to the current data, only 30% of the restaurants have a property in private ownership. Burjanadze declares that part of the restaurant business is in better condition than before the pandemic. As for the prices, he notes that costs will surge further in the restaurants after the launch of the tourism sector.

“Restaurant business is in an upward trend today. Some representatives of the sector are in better condition than before the pandemic. However, there is another part, who cannot recover from the problems and expect improvement from tourism, as well as weddings and other events.

The restaurant business does not increase the menu price at this stage, but growth is inevitable. The service is so expensive now… When the tourist season starts, then we expect the menu to become more expensive,” Burjanadze told BMG.
