Ilia Darchiashvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, emphasized the significance of Georgia’s participation in the NATO anniversary summit in Washington, D.C. He highlighted that Georgia’s presence at this summit underscores its status as a strong ally in the region and demonstrates the importance of the ongoing relationship between Georgia and NATO.

Darchiashvili stated that Georgia’s participation sends a clear message about the country’s strategic role and commitment to peace and stability in the region. He noted that Georgia has been diligently building these relations over the years and that the country’s presence at the summit reflects NATO’s recognition of Georgia’s importance.

“Our presence here signifies that Georgia’s participation in Washington is highly valued by the Alliance. Regarding the challenges, they persist in our region. We are actively addressing these challenges to ensure peace and stability in our country,” said the minister.

Regarding Georgia’s foreign policy priorities, Darchiashvili reiterated the country’s commitment to European and Euro-Atlantic integration, highlighting the extensive efforts made by the Georgian government to achieve these goals.

“Our government has made significant strides in this area. European and Euro-Atlantic integration remains our top priority. Georgia, though a small country with many challenges, is steadfast in its commitment to these goals. We reiterate our openness and readiness to restore and further deepen bilateral relations, as this is essential for both the USA and Georgia. Our bilateral relationship is of utmost importance, and we believe that the solid foundation we have built will withstand any challenge,” he added.
