On January 23, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke at the panel discussion "How to Expand Europe’s Influence" during the World Economic Forum in Davos. In his address, he discussed Armenia’s prospects for European integration and presented the regional economic integration program "Crossroads of Peace."

Pashinyan announced the potential adoption of a parliamentary bill to initiate Armenia's accession process to the EU, noting that the initiative originated from civil society. He emphasized that the desire to align more closely with the European Union is natural for a democratic country.

He highlighted significant progress in Armenia-EU relations in recent years, including the start of negotiations on visa liberalization, Armenia’s participation in the European Peace Facility, and the presence of the EU Civilian Mission in Armenia.

The Prime Minister placed special emphasis on the "Crossroads of Peace" program, aimed at overcoming the country’s economic isolation and developing regional transportation links. The program envisions not only establishing connections with Azerbaijan and Turkey but also deepening ties with Georgia and Iran, as well as creating a new route to the European Union through Armenia.

Pashinyan stressed that the success of this project depends on achieving lasting peace with Azerbaijan and normalizing relations with Turkey. He characterized his approach as pragmatic, underscoring the importance of maintaining a commitment to a peaceful agenda with the support of the international community.
