Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has officially confirmed upcoming personnel changes within the country’s top leadership. In a statement to citizens on November 18 via his Facebook page, the prime minister announced that he had requested several high-ranking officials to step down, emphasizing that the decision was systemic rather than personal.
According to Armenian media, the reshuffle may involve Rustam Badasyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee; Gnel Sanosyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure; Vahe Kazaryan, Minister of Internal Affairs; Argishti Kyaramyan, Chairman of the Investigative Committee; and Karen Andreasyan, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council. However, earlier rumors about the resignation of Defense Minister Suren Papikyan have been denied.
Despite the impending changes, Pashinyan praised the outgoing officials for their contributions to the development of Armenia’s statehood and expressed gratitude for their work.
Notably, these personnel decisions follow the prime minister's recent harsh criticism of law enforcement leaders during a government meeting, where he voiced strong dissatisfaction with their performance and the results of crime-fighting efforts.
As of now, only Karen Andreasyan, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, has publicly confirmed his resignation. Official confirmation of other appointments or dismissals has yet to be issued.
