In June, the price of peaches increased by 32%, making it among the 10 most expensive products of the last month.
According to the data of the National Statistics Service, in January-May, Georgia received 85.5% more income from peach exports.
In the first 5 months of this year, Georgia bought 622 tons of peaches worth USD 346.5 thousand. In the same period last year, 205.8 tons of USD 59.7 thousand. As for exports, Georgia sold 135.9 tons worth USD 125.1 thousand, and in the same period last year, 23.2 tons worth USD 18 thousand. This year, the only exporting country is Armenia.
As for imports, the main importer is Turkey, from which Georgia bought USD 344.4 thousand worth of peaches. Georgia bought only USD 2,000 worth of peaches from the Netherlands.
