Pensioners Will No Longer Face Suspension Over Minor ID Errors – Health Ministry

პენსია

The Ministry of Health has announced changes aimed at simplifying the pension distribution process, ensuring that minor discrepancies in identification data will no longer result in pension suspensions.

According to the ministry, the amendments were introduced to the order of the Minister of Labor, Health and Social Protection of IDPs from the Occupied Territories of Georgia.

Previously, if there was any mismatch between a pensioner’s ID card and the database of the State Services Development Agency, pension payments were suspended until the citizen provided updated documents.

Under the new rules, pensions will now only be suspended if critical identification details, such as the personal number, year, or month of birth, do not match. In all other cases, the Social Service Agency will rely on the State Services Development Agency’s data to process payments without interruption.

The ministry notes that this decision will directly benefit around 1,000 pensioners, who will now be able to receive their monthly pensions without additional procedures.

“They will no longer need to visit the agency’s service center or Liberty Bank to request a pension renewal,” the statement explained.

The reform is expected to reduce unnecessary bureaucracy, ease access to pensions, and ensure greater continuity of payments for elderly citizens.
