Beginning January 1, 2026, age-based pensions in Georgia have increased in accordance with the state budget approved for the new year.
Under the updated scheme, pensions for individuals aged 70 and older have risen by GEL 45, bringing the monthly amount to GEL 495. In highland settlements, pensioners in this age group will now receive nearly GEL 594.
For individuals under the age of 70, pensions have increased by GEL 20, setting the new amount at GEL 370, while residents of highland areas in the same group will receive GEL 444.
In addition to pensions, social assistance benefits have also increased:
Social support for persons with severe disabilities and for persons with disabilities under 18 has increased by GEL 45.
Social assistance for other categories of persons with disabilities has increased by GEL 20.
According to the country’s main financial document, funding allocated to the Ministry of Health for healthcare and social protection programs has grown by more than GEL 800 million in 2026.
For comparison, in 2025, pensions for individuals under 70 amounted to GEL 350 (GEL 420 in highland regions), while pensioners aged 70 and older received GEL450 (around GEL 540 in highland areas).
