Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili inspected the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi, which was reconstructed to host the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Accompanied by Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, General Secretary of the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) Davit Mujiri and Director of Municipal Development Fund Davit Tabidze, the PM reviewed engineering and security systems and spaces for athletes.
The renovation works amounted to GEL 32.7 million.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili will also visit sports infrastructure in the Imereti region ahead of the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship co-hosted by Georgia.
The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure received GEL 115 million in government funding to rebuild ten infrastructure units in preparation for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2023.
The 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship will be held in Georgia and Romania from June 21 to July 8. Football matches will be played in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi.
