PM Kobakhidze Touts Eagle Hills Project’s GEL 11 Billion Direct Economic Impact

ირაკლი კობახიძე

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze highlighted the massive economic benefits expected from the $6.5 billion Eagle Hills development, calling it the largest direct foreign investment in Georgia’s history.

He stated that the project's direct impact on the Georgian economy is projected to be approximately GEL 11 billion. Furthermore, the large-scale development in Krtsanisi and Gonio is expected to create over 24,000 temporary jobs during construction and more than 8,000 permanent jobs upon completion. The government also secured a 33% profit share for the state budget from the joint venture.

The investment, led by a major UAE-based developer, will provide significant fiscal benefits, adding an estimated GEL 500 to 700 million annually to the state budget in tax revenue alone. The project involves building new, high-standard urban spaces, including residential complexes and over 1,400 hotel rooms, aimed at boosting tourism and creating new attraction centres, particularly turning the south-west region Adjara into a four-season destination. Kobakhidze emphasised that the government fully protects Georgia's national interests, stressing that no Georgian land will be transferred, as the state remains a co-owner of the development plots.
