Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met EU Delegation Head to Georgia Pawel Herczynski and ambassadors of the EU member states. The EU diplomats initiated the meeting and hosted the head of the Georgian Government for an informal lunch.
Steps that are taken by Georgia to receive the status of an EU Candidate Country have been reviewed at the meeting. The discussion was related to the 12 recommendations defined for the country and delivered by the Parliament and the Government of Georgia.
Also, reforms successfully implemented by the Government and progress achieved on the EU integration path were summarized at the meeting.
The report published by the European Commission was discussed as well. It was highlighted that the Report reflects Georgia’s progress.
Irakli Garibashvili shared information with the ambassadors about the steps intended by the Government of Georgia to be taken before October, as this is the month when the report is expected to be released by the European Commission with recommendations to the EU Council on granting the EU candidate status.
Head of the Government Administration Revaz Javelidze attended the meeting.
