Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili has met with David O’Sullivan, EU Sanctions Envoy, Jim O'Brien, Head of the Office of Sanctions Coordination at the Department of State, and Kumar Iyer, Director General, Economics, Science and Technology at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of Great Britain.
According to the Government Administration, the Prime Minister welcomed the visit of the EU Envoy and emphasized its importance in light of the fact that during the meetings held in Brussels, the Georgian side repeatedly expressed its desire for close cooperation with the Office of the Envoy.
"At the meeting, attention was focused on Georgia's constant coordination with the European Union and the international community in relation to the financial sanctions imposed against Russia.
Emphasis was placed on the effective work of the relevant services of Georgia in order to prevent the circumvention of sanctions and in this direction, the successful cooperation between Georgia and the European Union, as well as the USA and Georgia. It was also noted that the efforts made by Georgia were positively assessed by the international community, including the US Department of State.
Attention was focused on Georgia's firm support for Ukraine in the political and humanitarian direction.
The meeting held in the government administration was attended bythe Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Georgia and the Ambassador of Great Britain to Georgia.
From the Georgian side, the meeting was attended by Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili, Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili and Head of Government Administration Revaz Javelidze", reads the information released by the Government Administration.
