Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia accompanied by Otar Shamugia, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and Larry Barnabishvili, Head of Department for Regional Coverage visited Badagoni Winery on Thuersday.
The Head of Government of Georgia observed the winemaking process and was briefed about the production process.
Company was incorporated in 2006 and it owns 2 winemaking plants in Akhmeta and Manavi. Company also owns vineyards in the volume of 400 hectares in every micro-zone of Kakheti. It produces table wine, sparkling wine and chacha. Also its output is 12 million bottles annually. Badagoni has exposure to 35 countries of the world and is a leader both at the domestic and overseas consumer markets.
Company employs over 1000 people and plans to process 10 000 tons of grapes this year. Badagoni is a beneficiary of an Agriculture Lending Program and has been credited with 15 MLN GEL. Also, within the scope of a state-supported program branded as Enterprise Georgia, a new enterprise facility was built on the land plot of 3800 square meters with a loan in the value of 2 500 000 GEL. Currently, the company has already acquired almost 7000 tons of grapes from vineyard owners.
The Prime Minister of Georgia was accompanied to Badagoni by officials of the executive, legislative and local authorities.
