ProCredit Bank has introduced a new group-wide approach to working practices, which involves creating a flexible and diverse working environment for its employees.
The innovative workplace model allows ProCredit Bank employees to benefit from offered flexibility and allocate time more efficiently by working part of every month (up to five days) from their preferred location using the new “hybrid working” principle.
This development by the German bank extends yet another modern European approach to the countries where the ProCredit group operates.
What makes the ProCredit Bank initiative outstanding on the one hand is that it introduces a systematic approach and creates equal conditions for all employees, regardless of the specifics of their job, and on the other hand it brings flexibility, since employees can decide for themselves when and where to work and the Bank will provide them with all the equipment they need.
Such a revamp of general working conditions is highly motivating but also brings with it a huge responsibility. For staff, it requires a high level of self-organisation and effective time management, for the company it is also important to provide a safe working environment for employees performing their jobs remotely. The positive experience gained so far is an indicator of the success of this new initiative and it will form the basis for ProCredit Bank’s long-term approach to human resource planning.
It is also worth noting that such a working model brings many advantages – and not only for the organisation and its employees. Reduced commuter traffic will reduce emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere, and this will have a positive effect on life in our cities. Therefore, this innovative ProCredit workplace policy will also make an important contribution to the natural environment.
